World Songs for the Thinking Minds Part 1

1. THANK YOU FOR THE YEARS

I thank you for the years
I thank you for the good times
As we go on together
I just want to say I'm glad you're here tonight
Thank you for the way you've touched my life

I thank you for your love
It helps me through the hard times
And the joy we share together
gives me all I need to make it through the night
Thank you for the way you hold me tight
I thank you for the years

I thank you for the years
I thank you it's been so wonderful
and through all the good and bad times
I just want to say I'm glad you're in my heart
loving you was only just the start

Holding on
When we're down and we are hurting
Holding on
To the precious things we have
We'll carry on
We'll carry on together
Our love's the reason we are strong

As we grow old together
I just want to say I'm glad you came my way
Thank you for the love you bring each day
I love you now and all I have to say
Is thank you for the years

Thinking About the Message of the Song:
1. Literal - Perseverance of Marriage
2. Figurative Message - Thanking God for the perseverance of the christians in this dispensation, especially during nigh times. God's love gives joy to the brotherhood. Love of God is the reason christians could hold to the faith until now however good and bad times are. Human flesh grows old;nonetheless even old christians should endure to offer thanksgiving.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

Diamonds are forever,
They are all I need to please me,
They can stimulate and tease me,
They won't leave in the night,
I've no fear that they might desert me.
Diamonds are forever,
Hold one up and then caress it,
Touch it, stroke it and undress it,
I can see every part,
Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me.
I don't need love,
For what good can love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll luster on.
Diamonds are forever,
Sparkling round my little finger.
Unlike men, the diamonds linger;
Men are mere mortals who
Are not worth going to your grave for.
I don't need love,
For what good can love do me?
Diamonds never lie to me,
For when love's gone,
They'll lustre on.
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Diamonds are forever, forever, forever.
Forever and ever.

1. Literal Message - Selfishness; Materialism
2. Figurative Message - Spinsterhood. Though literal diamonds are being mentioned here, but to always go after material things will not mean you don't love those costly things. Comparatively speaking, any woman can pawn diamonds but the companionship of a thinking man is incomparable to any inanimate objects. It does not mean that any woman should marry. It's okay for her to remain single but should share her love to her fellow humans.
